Corbett Travel is one of India’s most beautiful wildlife areas has a tiger population of around 160, which makes this park as the last and the most important bastion of this endangered species in India. Corbett Parks 1318.54 square kilometers of virgin forest and jungle are home to numerous other species of fauna. The rich biodiversity of the parks is a perfect place for bird enthusiasts the area is considered one of the best bird-watching areas in India, with some 600 species having been sighted in the park. The different habitat types of Corbett Park mountains, Sal forests, chaurs (grasslands), khair-sissoo forests, and rivers have their distinct assemblage of plants. More than 600 species of birds, trees, shrubs, herbs, bamboos, grasses, climbers and ferns have been identified in the Corbett Park. The most visible trees found in Corbett Park are Sal, Sissoo and Khair. Many other species that contribute to the diversity are found scattered throughout the Corbett park. Chir Pine is the only conifer of the Park and is found on ridge-tops. The upper reaches near Kanda ridge have Oak growing, which is essentially a Himalayan species. Other major tree species seen in and around Corbett park are Bel, Kusum, Mahua, Bakli. Do’s and Don’ts in the Corbett Park tours: Walking or trekking inside the national park is strictly prohibited. Avoid perfumes and bright clothes, wear clothes of colour which merge with the natural surroundings. Carry a litter bag while entering the Tiger Reserve and bring back non-biodegradable litter. Do not make noises/talk loudly inside the forest. Do not smoke in the forest. Do not collect plants or pluck flowers. While taking photographs or shooting videos, do not disturb the wild animals. ( For eg. Use of flash guns). Shouting, teasing or chasing animals or attempts to feed them are prohibited. Respect local traditions, customs and religions. Bijrani Safari Zone : Bijrani Zone is very popular tourist’s hub because of its abundant natural beauty and open grasslands. The entry gate of the zone is located at only 01 Km from Ramnagar city. Jhirna Safari Zone : Jhirna is another important tourist zone in the Jim Corbett National park that is open for tourist round the year. Jhirna Gate is located at 16 km from Ramnagar city. Dhela Safari Zone : Dhela is a new eco tourism zone in Corbett National Park included in tiger reserve zone in November 2014. This is the only area in the reserve’s buffer zone open to tourists in CTR. The zone is retaining the attention of large number of tourist because of its wealthy flora and fauna, open throughout the year, located at an approximate distance of 13 Km from Ramnagar City. Dhikala Zone : Being the largest and most varied zone in Corbett, Dhikala is famous for its abundant natural beauty as well as offering the best sight for exotic fauna. The entry gate is 18 km away from Ramnagar city. Night stay inside the Dhikala Tourism Zone is highly recommended for the hard core wildlife enthusiasts. Durga Devi Zone : Located on the north-eastern boundary of the Jim Corbett National Park, Durga Devi zone is the heaven on planet earth for those who are fond of bird watching. Entry gate is located at an approximate distance of 36 km from Ramnagar city. Sitabani Buffer Zone : Sitabani Zone doesn’t fall under the Corbett Tiger Reserve area. If you are fond of serene ambiance of the natural beauty, must visit Sitabani area.

Best Time to Visit Corbett

 

Corbett National Park remains open throughout the year for the visitors from Khara zone of the Corbett national park but the best time to visit Corbett national park is from 15th October to 30th June because during this period of time almost the tourism zones of Corbett national park are open for visitors coming to Corbett national park and one can visit almost the entire national park area..

How to Reach Corbett

 

By Air/flight: Pant Nagar airport Udham Singh Nagar is 84.6Km from Ramnagar in Jim Corbett National Park. Tourists must follow the roadways to Corbett Park from Pant Nagar airport. Jolly Grant airport Dehradun 155Km from Sonanadi range of the national park is another option. Tourists must either take a bus from Dehradun or Rishikesh or Haridwar to reach Jim Corbett National Park. Both these airports have regular air service from Delhi.

By Rail/Train: Jim Corbett National Park has regular rail service from and to Delhi and Varanasi. The everyday rail service, mostly night, makes it easy for the tourists from and outside India to reach the Corbett park easy and fresh.

By Road: Jim Corbett national park is only 260Km from Delhi, 348Km from Chandigarh, 420Km from Lucknow, 65Km from Nainital and 96Km from Ranikhet. These are the places which pass through various road routes to reach Jim Corbett. Regular bus services from and to Corbett Park from different parts of India makes easy for the tourists to have safe and comfortable journey for the vacation.
